![]() What about using a calling card? Or get a local prepaid sim if you have a phone that works here.

![]() I have a tri-band phone (nokia n72), so I only need a prepaid sim card to call Italy.
Thanks |

Don't know where you are staying, but if you have land line access for free, you can use the 800 (toll free) #s on the calling card and avoid the cell phone domestic charges altogether. ![]() And what about "Jolt Mobile" and "Boost Mobile"? It's possible to buy only sim-card?

![]() No idea or experience with either Boost or Jolt. Sorry.
You can buy a Boost starter on Ebay. Not sure about Boost international rates. Cannot imagine they are low. Currently there are no Jolt starter sets for sale on Ebay US. They seem to have coverage in CA. Not clear to me how you sign up or if you can simply purchase a SIM card alone. Seems to me you need to buy a starter set WITH phone. ![]() Jolt appears to be a MVNO on Cingular. This means that the coverage is both 850 MHz and 1900 MHz. I don't see a SIM-only deal but using a tri-band (900/1800/1900) phone with that SIM would be like using a 850/1800/1900 phone on TIM. It would work in some places but not in many others. You might want to order their cheap phone. Jolt's "free" international calling looks pretty good but I seriously doubt that calls to mobiles are included in that rate. The other alternative is to use another prepaid and a call-through service like gorillamobile.com or voicestick.com.

![]() Usually I would recommend ebay for the prapaid sim since they are a whole lot cheaper there. But that will not help you now, so go to a walmart, kmart, target etc. and get a prepaid kit (tmobile or cingular). It will come with an okay phone and some credit. You can also buy topup credit at the store or topup via the phone or online with your credit card (at least with tmobile).

![]() What you think about Jolt Mobile (http://www.joltwireless.com/), I see that's is possible to call to Italy with the local (USA) price...if I understand...
