I think this change is less than a week old.
While this is still true:

How much does it cost?
Rates are based on kilobytes of data used, and are charged at 49c per MB when connected to T-Mobile or $1.99 per MB when connected to AT&T in the USA . The minimum charge is for 100KB and further usage is charged in increments of 100KB. A minimum charge of 50c per session applies.

They are now offering data bundles in which you prepay for a dedicated data 'wallet' [my word].
The best rate is produced from:

Heavy Data Bundle you pay:$119, balance is $357.00
[200% extra credit]

So one third of 49cents is 16.3cents per MB.

The newer [the ones we got as replacement SIM cards with the $5 credit] SIM cards all seem to have the ability to buy the Data Bundles from the account details page.
