![]() LG has released a dual SIM Android phone with 3g on SIM 1 (900/2100mhz only). I thought I would post about this phone because most dual SIM phones I've run into are 2g only and the Android ones are mostly no name Chinese models. Here is one vendor's spec sheet:

![]() Not bad. However, I did not see anywhere if it says both sims are active at the same time. All the picture show one signal indicator.
I currently have one cheap one that I bought from deal extreme about 5 years ago, and both sims are active at the same time. However, I don't travel with it any longer since the proprietary charger broke, and it was going to cost a lot for replacement. Sim cards: AT&T (Contract), 3 UK, Piranha Mobile |

![]() The chinese dual sim android smartphones with the latest MTK cpu are not bad either.
it has 650 + 400 MHz and has 3G on one of the two cards. There is a wide choice of devices - as long as you see it runs on the MTK 6573 you are on the save side. Chris Thailand: truemove (phone+sms+wifi) International: xxSim+372, toggle +44/+49/+41/+31 Phones: Huawei Mate7, Huawei P9 |

![]() I have a cheap Chinese one styled after a Nokia but with its own operating system skinned to look like Symbian. I think the phone I posted will do an active standby on both SIMs. I wish it was quadband 3g. Besides North America, this would also help in Oz (where I have relatives) which uses a mishmash of bands. I expect that his coming fairly soon.
