Something like the Lidl plan for Austria? -

The monthly flatrate data plan that Lidl offers in Germany is great for visitors: 5GB + .09/min calls for < €20/month and it's easy for a non-resident to purchase at Lidl supermarkets all over Germany. Is there anything similar for visitors to Austria?

Yes, although maybe not as generous. The Hofer supermarket chain offers yesss! Mobile Internet Starter Kit 1 GB with a SIM and 1GB data for €10. You can get similar deals from telering (T-Mobile) et al at any shop that sells cellphones.
