![]() I will be, as of May this year, traveling through the following countries;
- Mexico - Guatemala - El Salvador - Honduras - Nicaragua - Costa Rica - Ecuador - Peru - Argentina This is a lot, I know! I will not be in many of these countries for more than two weeks, which makes it a bit inopportune to buy a SIM card in each and every one of them. I do however want to be able to stay in touch with my family and friends back home, mostly by having them call me. So I'm looking for a SIM card that will allow me to receive incoming calls for free in (most of) these countries. Has anyone got any idea? It would be greatly, greatly appreciated. PS. The phone I've got is a SonyEricsson W810i. Will that do? |

![]() You can not have free incoming calls in Nicaragua, Argentina, Honduras, Costa Rica. You will not find it easy to find one Sim that covers all these countries without problems. So you might need to buy two global sims...

![]() Take a look at http://www.09.is
+ Mexico (Free) + Guatemala (Free) + El Salvador (Free) - Honduras - Nicaragua - Costa Rica + Ecuador (Free) + Peru (0.29) + Argentina (0.99) EDIT: I don't know about a card offering roaming at all for Nicaragua. Honduras (US$0.49) and Costa Rica (US$0.19) are covered by Yackie. Belgium: Proximus Smart+ 15 (+32 496 contract) Voip: Weepee-voip.be Phones: Apple iPhone 32Gb 5S |

![]() Brilliant! Thanks a lot for your answers!
I always thought this was going to be a problem. My sister is currently on a trip of her own, visiting just three countries, making it a lot easier to keep in touch with her, as she can buy a SIM card in every country she visits. I was hoping there would be a similar solution to my problem, but there doesn't seem to be any. The only country I'm visiting long enough it would be worthwhile to buy a SIM card is Argentina, so now I'm looking for the most economical option for the rest of the countries. Thanks for your help. |

![]() So, if I understand correctly, there is no best way to go about this. The most practical method of having the ability of my friends and family calling me without paying for the incoming call would be to just get a load of SIM cards; one for every country I visit?
In any case, thanks a lot! |
