Prepaid MicroSIM for iPad data?

Hey gang-

Considering the purchase of an iPad 3G. The ATT data rates for roaming abroad are insane...no surprise there. So is there an enterprising company looking at offering a prepaid MicroSIM to target the iPad community?

Hi

I think it's a very integresting Idea, and we all ready request from our SIM suplier one offert for that

I have a question, what will be the best offert?

One monthly fees on activation ( you use the SIM during the month you pay, you dont use it, you dont pay the next month ) and DATA worldwide at cost ?

Or no monthly fees and just Data with a mark up ...

I would think monthly fee would make more sense for people using the data once in a while. However, unless you can drastically reduce your data charge, I don't think you have any competitive edge. For example, AT&T is charging a little bit over $1 per MB ($25 for 20MB or $60 for 50MB) while you are charging about $3.75 per MB for most countries (such as US and UK). I don't see how you can compete with that.

Can you provide a couple sample rates using both pricing models (ie monthly fee plus data at cost vs no monthly fee + data + markup).

Rogers In Canada is now offering a PAYG microsim with 5 gigs of data for CDN$30.
