![]() I have Cingular here in the US as my normal provider, however I use alot of SMS text messages to international destinations and I usually end up with about using $15-$20USD a month of intl txt messages, anyone have a country sim or an international sim they would recommend for sending intl sms strictly?
Thanks |

![]() Try smsbug.com. It is PREPAID, but you will need to download the JAVA app to your phone via GPRS, WAP, whatever. That is how you REGISTER. Once registered you can either use the JAVA APPLET or navigate to their site on the PC or your phone assuming you have data access. It's ~ 4 US cents per message to most places.

![]() thanks,
I am already partially using this, which i should have mentioned in my original posts. Problem is that even though for example smsbug.com lists Telcel to Mexico as working, it does not work and multiple attempts to resolve it have been unsuccessful. I however use it to send to TIM in Peru and it works flawless there. Secondly, I also have an account with mobisms.com and haved tried it to send to movistar in Mexico, its listed as working but does not. They also list tim in peru but it doesnt work, so i have given up using mobisms.com for anything. In conclusion it seems that theres some issues with mexican networks although I can send no problem from Tmobile and Cingular here in the US. So, after trying multiple times I am thinking maybe theres some foreign sim that may work for texting. It seems that just like the international sims, much of central and south america are forgotten, the same thing with smsbug and similar services. Anyone have any additional ideas or input? Thanks |

![]() I guess there's not a single silver bullet. Use smsBug where it works; use E-mail in other cases and send SMS when those don't work.

![]() What about picking up a tmobile payg sim on ebay. They charge $0.10 to send SMS regardless of destination. It's also free to receive. They were supposed to start charging $0.05 cents for receiving as of the 15th of this month, but it seems like they are holding off on doing so for now. So far, they are the only major US carrier that does not charge extra for international SMS. It's also very reliable in that respect. Considering how much they go for on ebay, and as long as you use the sim strictly for SMS, you will likely save some money going this route.
