I suspect the phone IS registering on the Irish network. There would be no response if he were not registering instead of number not allowed. I don't really have a good answer. I had a D1 (T-Mobile) Germany SIM only at the time of which I spoke. And yes, the number must be on the SIM card. Usually in moto phones there is a way to copy #s from phonebook to SIM.

PERSONALLY, from what you describe, I think the problem is with CALL BLUE. Especially since the activation/top up worked fine from USA.

Very strange that inbounds would not go thru. Seems as if the network cannot route calls to him correctly. As if the phone is NOT RECOGNIZED.

On HOFO folks with T-MO togo (prepaid) say that their phones SHOW CINGULAR, as if they are roaming, but outbound calls do not go thru. IE. yes the phone registers, but either CINGY or T-MO wont cooperate to complete the transaction.

Do text messages get thru and can he send them outbound?

Also, can he select another network? Which networks will work with CALL BLUE?
