Each international carrier negotiates their own pricing, or takes a loss to make their cards look better in certain countries. I've found that sometimes the international carrier will change (i.e. lie, deceive, not tell the truth) about their rates on their website...and when you look through your charge history (if they support that), you'll find different charges (usually higher).
Basically you'll need to find a International Carrier that has reasonable pricing in the country you are traveling to. Since I travel to Central America, the Caribbean, and South America, I've found that the pricing using this International carrier (OneSinCard) is quite expensive compared to Celtrek for those destinations. Though I've never actually used them, I'll try them out on my next trip, I'll see if they are one of the carriers that lies or is telling the truth about their prices.
