Experiences of Globalsim? -

I'm going to Paris next month which will be the first of a number of jaunts to continental Europe this year.
Due to the short length of stay, I don't think I can justify buying a local SIM so thought an International one would be a good idea for this (and similar future trips).
I've looked at what's there and have more or less decided on Globalsim mainly because:
1/ I like the fact that you effectively get the SIM included with the price of credit (i.e. £25 = SIM + £25 credit) rather than paying a chunk of money for the SIM.
2/ The rates seem as low (or lower) than most.
3/ The IOM number would (in theory) be preferable for incoming calls as most people likely to call me are UK-based.
The downsides would be the 180-day validity and 60/60 billing (though this seems the norm).
I have looked at GeoSim since although their (call) rates tend to be slightly higher they seem to be better in this regard but am put off slightly by the £25 cost of the SIM (i.e. £30 with only £5 credit) and an annual renewal fee of £9+VAT. Also on their call calculator I don't quite understand the secondary charge of "Each additional participant in a call to this
destination will incur a per-minute charge of..."
They don't seem to explicitly state sms charges either which would seem to be a bit of a worry...
I'd be grateful for anyone with any experience of using Globalsim to report on how good they've found the service to be or whether I'd be better off looking elsewhere?
