PS: If you try 0000 and it doesn't work, try 1234, which is another common default PIN. If that doesn't work, don't try anything else until you've received a response to your e-mail or call to Vodafone.
One more obvious thing: If you threw the docs away at, say, a friend's house, there's always the chnance it's still in the wastebasket. You can always ask...
