Without contacting him, I do not think any of us would have received anything. If you do not get the # you selected, I would not woorry about it for now.
Just make sure you test the number you received that it's working as expected . There are still some issues with mine, such as non-notification of voice mail messages, etc.
Also, I do not know anyone with the sim that has been able to topup, check their credit/call logs, etc. These can only be done online, and that is not functional yet. I plan on using the sim on a trip next month, so hopefully that's all ironed out. If not, I can always fallback on my UM sim anyway.
