Hi,
I am looking for a prepaid card with a long delay in validity.
I sometimes go to France, where I use my GSM. With my operator, I pay 2 Swiss Fr / mn (1.30 Euro/mn).
I look for a prepaid card, but with a long delay for the validity (if possible at least 6 months).
Has someone a reference for me ?
Thanks in advance.

Fab

Hi Fab117 and welcome to the forum! :)

For the longest validity I think NRJ Mobile is probably the best solution: just 1 "activity" every 6 months, you don't even need to recharge it, and it' always active.
Also Tele2 and Virgin have longer validity for the simcard, but not much for the credit...

Hi Effendi,
Thank you for your answer.
I have not clearly enough explained my wish.
I would prefer not to buy a new simcard. I am looking for a card with a "free" number that you call and then you compose the number that you want to call. Somethink like the cards that you can find on http://www.planetacard.ch
The biggest trouble with those cards is that their validity is quite short.

From your words I guess that you need something what is named "prepaid calling card" i.e. a scratch card with some PIN code which you must dial to identify the card you are using.

Since it's not a GSM/UMTS question I think that you should have posed it in the "other techologies" section of this forum.

If you need an indefinite validity, you may consider something like www.callbackworld.com - not really a calling card (a postpaid service), but meets your requirements - it has 0800 access number in both France and Switzerland (and some other countries as well).

www.lesminutes.com www.expat-telecom.com (same company, like gsm2world) can be used from a classic/booth phone, there is no validity and top-up is 5EUR.
From France, the fee is great. Not the best, but can be used from about anywhere with a 800 number.

If you can, in france, use the number 3111 (30xx and 31xx are free from landline/booth phone).

It SEEMS you are looking for a cheap call-thru or calling card. Perhaps I err.

Some of the German cards (hagenuk, eurocard) should offer you good rates and have toll free #s in France and other places. There are bound to be others. I believe these have 6 month validity, but you can also use them in CH and other countries.

Some US cards with LOCAL and tollfree #s (toll free are usually more expensive than the local #s) are enjoyprepaid and cloncom connect. MCI, ATT and Onesuite have 800 #s in France. Rates are probably > the other 2 companies I cited. Onesuite has 6 months and the other US cards unlimited validity.

Hi,
I have found what I was looking for on www.expat-telecom.com.
For a call from Switzerland to France, it costs 4 times less than with my Swiss operetor.
With a call from France to Switzerland, it is a little bit more expensive, but always cheaper than with my previous options.
Thanks.
