Going to Finland
Next week I will be going to Finland with my wife for a week.
Can anybody give me advice on choosing a prepaid SIM card mainly for data (navigation, Skype and some surfing). We will stay in southern Finland and the handset will probably be mini SIM compatible. |
During the above trip I bought a Saunalahti prepaid SIM card.
I am planning a trip to Lapland in December. Does anybody know if it will be possible to reactivate the line? |

It's very uncommon to be able to reactivate a dead SIM-card. The numbers must be reused. That goes for both Sweden and Finland (and most other countries). |
I've managed to have quite recently expired SIMs reactivated, on some UK networks and also an Omnitel in Lithuania (used August expired November active December) several years ago, but I think after over a year would be fairly unlikely.

Last tuesday I bought a DNA SIM card in Helsinki airport. It cost 5 Euro, with a starting balance of 7 Euro and a "level 2" plan activated, which gives me 3GB data over 3 months, and costs 0.69 Euro every day I use it. The plan also includes free talk time and SMS in Finland, but I have no use fot these.
The problem is that the agent in the R-kioski sold me a 10 Euro top up, but later I found out that it is useless because a "control digit" was not printed on the voucher. |
