Lycamobile US?

I was looking at the Lycamobile Spain site, and saw they were offering free calls to Lycamoible US. I had no idea it (Lycamobile US) existed, but the website exists.

It's very strange.

If you go to the roaming page, it shows free incoming calls in many countries - Japan, China, Europe, even when the outgoing rates are very high. If this is really correct, this would be a good deal - a free SIM with free incoming calls in much of the world.

It's also impossible to order the free SIM - it asks you to fill in your zipcode and select and address, but the functionality does not work.

If you call the customer service number on the site, you get a British-style ring, but no one ever answers.

Choose any address and then edit it to be correct. It works for most people.
They are being too clever with that form.

Unfortunately the street name field is disabled. So, unless your street is in the ones displayed, you will not be able to order a sim. Been at this address/zipcode for over 13 years, and it did not show up. What a joke!Whatever database they used to populate streets for the zipcode must be really out of date.

Lycamobile is supposed to launch in Canada real soon. It would be really cool if they could do a blended North American plan. My suspicion is that Toggle will eventually fold in the US (and hopefully Canada).

PAYGO working and new plan. Lower PAYGO talk charge

I received my SIM today via UPS 2nd day air.

PAYGO is now working according to CS.

Went to the web site and they have lowered the talk rate for PAYGO:

Quote:

2c/min Pay As You Go
2c/min, 4c/Text, 6c/MB

And added another 'plan':

Quote:

$19/month
Unlimited Nationwide Talk & Texts

I am going to wait until April to activate, so I have to trust them that PAYGO is now working.

It was relatively easy to activate and top up.

Well, thatīs only normal. Incomming calls ARE free in almost the whole world, with the exception of very few countries.

I wouldn't place big bets on that lasting forever. The number of countries where the associated brand Toggle has free incoming calls has dropped from over 140 to about 60 to just over 20, with some more with zero per minute plus a connection fee

rfranzq 15-04-2013 21:33

Most seem to be 30 cents a minute incoming now.

Most seem to be 30 cents a minute incoming now. I think they started up the website before they had finished filling in the rates.
