Best flat rate pre paid option
 

Hello,

I am staying for 3 months in Hamburg starting from October. I have a smartphone and I am looking for the best pre paid option.

I will mostly be texting (hopefully) to other german numbers and using mobile internet (facebook, skype, various apps,...). I am not intending to make many calls, but I would like to make calls when necessary.

Given my specific desires, which would be the best flat rate pre paid option for me?

I have looked up the Lidl tarifs, of which especially the Smart Tarif looks the most interesting. If I understand it well it includes 400 minutes or sms and 300 MB per month for 10 euro per month. However, I am not sure whether this is sufficient, especially the 300 MB data transfer.

What are your thoughts on Lidl and are there interesting alternatives with more MB and SMS per month?

Ok, I looked up some more and two alternatives for Lidl are:

1. Fonic Smart
500 sms or min and 500 MB
Price: € 16.95

2. Aldi Talk
2000 sms or min and 500 MB
Price: € 19.99

It seems that Fonic may be the best option for me (500 MB instead of 300 MB), but it is also more expensive (€16.95 instead of €9.99).

I guess that all depends on how much MB I will need, which I find quite hard to estimate given that this will be my first smart phone.

Are there other cheap flat rate deals?
