TIM is 'eating' my money. Confused about charges
Hello everyone,
I just got to Italy two days ago. I bought a mini sim card from TIM and registered for the Internet option "Internet senza limit" and since I got it with a modem (Chiavetta) at 29 Euros, I paid 10 Euros per month for the 10GB connection for 3 months. I have the sim on my iPhone 4s and tethering to my laptop. First worry, in less than 24 hours, when I checked my internet usage, it was reading 6GB! When did I use up 4GB already?! The sim came with a 5Euros credit for calls (as the attendant told me). In less than 24 hours, it was down to less than 1 Euro and when I woke up yesterday, I was told my credit was "esaurito" (exhausted)! I sent about 5 sms and made no calls. Now with my credit "esaurito", my Internet did not work. I loaded 30 Euros credit online but TIM credited me with 28.78 Euros! I decided not to make any calls and not to send any sms so to watch. I woke up this morning to check my credit and it is now reading 26,78 Euros! What the heck is happening, does anyone know? Does TIM charge 2 Euros per day for doing nothing? I'll be grateful for any help please guys, thanks! |
OK, no reply to my comments :)
Anyhow I'll share the result in case it's useful to someone else. I finally got to talk to TIM. The 2Euros was because I was navigating with the APN wap.tim.it The operator told me, "Mai usar wap". Never use wap else you'll be charged 2 Euros per day. The other problem remains. With the APN set to wap.tim.it, I cannot tether my iPhone to the PC. So I've left it at that for now. Seems to be a problem restricted to iPhone 4s only :( |
Have you asked TIM about this? Really abnormal?!
|
Are you sure you're using the correct APN (ibox.tim.it)?
Because the iPhone, by default, uses wap.tim.it... (2€ or 2,5€/day if I recall correctly) |
