Voice/Data for iPhone4s in Sicily
Hello I will be living in Sicily for 3 months, near Catania. I have an iPhone 4s I can put a miniSIM card into. I would like the ability to talk and text as well as use maps ocassionally and also maybe make VOIP calls. So far WIND, COOP and TIM seem like good options with the exception you can't make VOIP calls on TIM. I will be working on budget. So far COOP seems the most attractive price wise.
Which would you recommend? Has anyone ever used them with an iPhone 4s (on verizon) and are these offered on mini SIM cards? Should I buy one in Italy or on Ebay? Do these have good rates in other countries? Would it be better to go with a multi-country international SIM? Thanks! |
Go with an Italian sim card and buy it in a shop in Italy.
Choose the one which suits you best. COOP uses TIM's network, so it surely has good coverage. Wind in Sicily is also usually very good. |
Does a Verizon [CDMA] iPhone 4S actually have a SIM card slot??

{I assume it is CDMA in the USA.} |
Yes. Even though they are CDMA carriers, Both SprintPCS and Verizon iphone 4s have slim slots. Both will provide the unlock code upon request. A friend is using his sprintPCS iphone 4s in Africa at the moment with a local sim card.

Thanks for answering.

The four GSM bands [or just the non US ones]? And what other bands? |
Once unlocked it can be used just like any other GSM phone, except that they are configured to not connect to the US GSM network code, 310. Bottom line - they will not connect to a USA GSM network.
