iPhone SIM on Huawei MiFi router
 

Hi all,

First thanks a lot for all the precious information that is posted here.
I will stay two weeks in Tuscany starting tomorrow and will suscribe to a TIM or Wind data plan but I would like to use internet both on my (unlocked) iPhone and from my laptop through my (unlocked) Huawei MiFi router with the same SIM card.

Will it be possible to do so ?
If yes both with TIM and Wind data plans?
Are there specific APN settings to use ?

I am asking this question because some French operators are now preventing iPhone users from using their connection with third party devices either through tethering or via MiFi routers and I was wondering if it was the same in Italy.

Hi MrBlue,
you have to subscribe to a data plan for usb-dongles/tethering, i.e. Wind Mega Unlimited or TIM Internet Senza Limiti. You will have no limitations with those plans, but they are more expensive than plans for mobile navigation only.

Have you solved the APN setting problem? I have Huawei too and will use it when visiting Italy. Would you mind teaching how to set the APN in Mifi?... And which TIM plan that you have chosen?
