New OneSimCard Plus

OneSimCard has a new 'plus' card. The only difference I can see is that it has lower rates for calls while being in the US or Canada.

The plus card is free to receive calls in the US/Canada instead of $2.50 a minute. Making calls is $0.45 instead of $2.89. It costs more to get, but for some folk it could be worth it. It does not seem to do data either.

You're right, the only rates that are different with the Plus SIM are in the US & Canada (free incoming, 45c outgoing) and there is no data service in US/Canada with the Plus SIM. It's meant for customers living outside of the U.S. who, as part of their travels, make stops in the US/Canada and want the less expensive voice rates while they are here. For most customers our standard SIM is still the best option.

What country is the default tied to the phone? Isle of Mann, Jersey, Belgium, Estonia, or something else?

The numbers are from Estonia if i read their FAQ correctly.

You are correct:

How much does it cost someone in the US or Canada to call to my OneSimCard mobile phone?
Most US and Canadian carriers can charge more than $3/minute to connect to an Estonian mobile number, which is the primary mobile number for a OneSimCard global SIM card.

Don't know the situation now but many voip companies have a hard time connecting to the estonian mobile number.

For me an estonian number is a now go, still prefer the UK number. It's also easier to give the UK mobile number to others or cheaper if you setup your own did number and forward the call to the uk number.

Yes, but on the other hand the estonia based SIM cards are by far the most stable regarding my tests. I have a airbalticcard for 5 years already and never had any problems with it at all.

I do also agree with this, I have a Go Sim with an estonian number with no problem, Also Dellmont voip brands can now reach Estonian numbers at around 10 eurocent a minute.

Can others confirm that using betamax/dellmont now the estonian numbers can be called. Last year this was still not possible.

I have used successfully to make calls to my Estoian sim Go sim, Voipro and Voicetrading. Also used it for callback in several countries with no problem.

Sorry for the delay, but the responses were correct it's still an Estonian primary number on the Plus SIM. Keep in mind that you can add extra numbers in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, France and Israel. It's a 20c/min surcharge for receiving calls through these numbers, except for the UK-Mobile (+44 7) number which is only a 25c charge per call.
