Release date for USA & UK Dual numbered sim card
 

The dual numbered sim card is due for release end of June, mid July. There have been a few technical issues to sort out - hence the slight delay in the release.

All call rates are the same except that we will offer free incoming roaming in the USA for callers who call the UK +447924 number.

Callers who call the +1 940 USA number - There will be a $0.25 per minute inbound charge.

We are not taking pre-orders at this time, As we fill you cannot sell what you don't have! - And there are some legal issues in changing a customer credit card for a item that is not available.

I am curios about the following points (I DO NOT try to imply anything, just asking):

- I assume this service is in no way associated with a certain company that isn't doing so well for now (I say that because I saw the thread "new ** card with +1/+44 dual number soon")
- is would be possible to migrate one of the existing cards to the dual card (maybe with changing the SIM but keeping the +447924 number)?
- what about data? will it be available at all? any idea what prices are we talking about?

We use +447924 numbered sim cards (isle of man / uk) The other operator you are referring to I would guess is United Mobile. We have no connection with U-M or do we use the same network. There system is based in Jersey (uk) - As for data. All our sim cards are enabled for data and we also sell USB data modems on our website.

When the dual-number product comes out, will it be possible to get the US number as an option for the existing card, or else, will it be possible to change the SIM but retain the current +44 number on the new card?

It is more complicated than a regular number sim swap since it has to be done on both UK and the US operators at the same time. This has to be done manually via emails and there is a high chance for errors. We are looking for a solution.

Looks like Telestial is rolling out a Dual number SIM. They charge a 19 cent inbound fee when callers call in on the U.S. number. Telestial does charge a connection fee of 35 cents.

ekit also seems to be updating their charges for the Dual numbers.

I guess tapping the US market or those that travel to the US is one way of staying competitive in this business. Again, the lower EU roaming rates have pretty much affected a large percentage of potential customers.
