UM news

An email from them announces that call rates on the +423 SIM drop to from 29 cents a minute, and text messages down to 29 cents each

sms are cheapier with um+ than new +423 um. It would be interesting to know the different prices to mobile phones and landline numbers;)

Why do you say so? sms have the same price now on both cards..

Effendi 13-02-2008 16:20

Yeah, in fact, now the SMS price is the same, as well as the lower tariff at 29 cent/min.
It seems United Mobile is changing its strategy again... +423 seems to be more reliable than UM+, has better coverage, free roaming in China and now also the same rates...

Effendi...all that is true, certainly, but it still begs the question of many providers not allowing calls to +423 numbers or charging an arm and a leg to those that do!

i referred to new +423 about sms ;)

There are rumors the IC-tariffs for UM's +423663 numbers could be equalized with the usual Mobilkom Liechtenstein IC-tariff before year end, which may improve availability. I hope they'll decide soon, which platform they'll primarily use in the future. From a strategic point of view, Mobilkom Liechtenstein seems to be the better choice, since they could provide access to the worldwide Vodafone networks through their parent company Mobilkom Austria, allthough I liked the British numbers better.

I do not think that this will help much. I have not seen many providers differentiating rates for calls to +4236. Most charge one single (high) rate for those calls.
