Poland: P4=Play

http://www.playmobile.pl/

So far only the brand and logo have been revealed (BTW, play.pl and play.com.pl already occupied :)).

Well... seeing the address I can't help to think of Playmobil toys. :D

You're right :).
First rumors about the name appeared on TV yesterday about 16:00 - the supposition was Play4 (play4.pl is "occupied" by the company which prepared adverstising campaign for P4 test users).

BTW, I have read opinions that the Play logo looks like an Alpenliebe candy or a lid of a cup of blueberry yoghurt. For me, it looks like a piece of cream-blueberry ice-cream :D.

In the previous thread I didn't say more about acquisition of Germanos dealer network by P4. It turned out (what I hadn't realised of earlier) that Germanos has been bringing about 30% of postpaid and 40% prepaid customers to Era. The loss of so many dealers is a very strong hit for Era.
Accoring the terms of the contract, Era sale activity in Germanos shops will be "extingushed" over next 1 or 2 months.

Unfortunately, I can't say a word about the Play tariffs. Test users have a tariff in "virtual zlotys" which doesn't have to reflect the real one.

No, 260 06.
Other MNCs are assigned to "potential" MVNOs :):
260 04 - Tele2
260 07 - Premium Internet
260 08 - E-Telko

260 05 is not assigned - I don't know why :)

And the "Net Frequency" should be:
W-CDMA 2100 (+ GSM 900/1800 roaming on Plus).

So, let's Play at last :)
The official ad campaign will start tomorrow (9.03) and, according to rumours, the commercial start is scheduled a week later (16.03).
Prepaids will be sold countrywide in EMPIK bookstores and Arteria dealer points located in shopping malls. Postpaids will initially be available in largest cities only. Full availability of postpaid services is expected in May when Germanos shops close their Era operations.
No info about pricing yet...

It depends how much time you'll have before you get on the train to Minsk . However, there should be no problem as there's an EMPIK store in the Złote Tarasy shopping mall (the building with the fancy glass roof opposite the north side of the Warszawa Centralna station).

The official start date is announced - 16th March. The press conference will start at 11:00 CET. Initially, SIMs will be available from all the Media Markt and Saturn electronic stores as well as 17 EMPIK bookstores in the largest cities.

Hmmm, might be an opportunity to get a 3G phone cheap. There is (rather weird) advertising all over Warsaw, but no specifics until tomorrow.
