This service is free, but obviously very limited to ONE destination #. If you pay, it costs $1 / week. You get 3 minutes of talk time. Complaint on Teltarif that they got 30 seconds instead of 3 minutes.

Inbound calls are FREE as long as the 2nd party is in his/her home country. Calling party pays the cost of a local call. Runs on VOIP.

PERSONALLY, I think I still prefer to use EITHER

Calling card from landline OR
local or US calling card and 800 # OR
local # (XtraOne, best friend) and my US calling card (Enjoyprepaid) OR
CBW and callback to my Riiing phone OR
CBW and local SIM.

One of my reasons is that I have SUNK COSTS -- bunches of calling cards that I would like to use up before I spend additional funds.

We'll need to have our European friends weigh in with their thoughts.

Well, the systems idea is interesting - but i think for most people it is just too complicated to use just to save a few cents.

- you need to have internet access
- type the numbers of you and the callers party
- the system sends SMS with a vitrual VoIP-Number to each calling party
- they have to dial the number in the SMS
- then you have 3 minutes of phone time.

what a mess for a short call :wacko:

As you need internet-access anyway you can also call at home using one of the many cheap carriers or VoIP or callingcards or or or.

It sounds all too much rigmarole to set up. Maybe the time was cut short as the second call started later than the first.

It sounds like the two callers both make outgoing calls, rather than one being incoming, in which case this is already possible for some people for free, without any time limit, using free [set-up free, not toll-free] conference number facilities
