Hey gang-

Okay- United-Mobile rates to just check my United-Mobile Voicemail are about a dollar including setup charge. But- could I somehow use my Callbackworld account to do it from my United-Mobile cellphone? I know- it seems like there wouldn't be a way to call the voicemail on my cellphone while using my cellphone, but since I'd be using a callback service, maybe it would work? Tips anyone?

Thanks!

Dave

Can't you just use CBW's PIN2DEST? It's the same $0.14/min. That's one of the few ways to call into UM that's still very reasonable. Even using CBW with your UM SIM from here (US) will cost you the rate to receive a call per min, because you have to answer the phone.

Yup...in the US pin2dest on CBW will indeed cost 14? (assuming you're not using your um phone) whether from a landline or a local mobile...

If you're in Europe, on the um phone, use cbw and dial the US pin2dest number, you will probably pay 28?/minute (14? for the call to the US and 14? for the call to the "busy" united mobile number which in theory should go into voicemail.

Hey gang-

Just got back from my first trip to Europe (Italy) using my United Mobile SIM. I found I was able to call CallbackWorld, then dial my own UM phone number. The call would go straight to voicemail, where I could enter my PIN and check my voicemail- at 14/cents per minute. Cool!

Thanks again!

14c/min or 28c/min?

I'm pretty sure it's .14/minute. What I did was call my CBW access number from Italy using my United Mobile phone. I got the UM callback, let it ring once, and hung up. I then got the callback from CBW. I then entered my UM phone number. It answered and went straight to voicemail, since I was on the phone. I entered my PIN and accessed my voicemail.

Now- it might have been .20/minute, since that is the CBW rate for Liechtenstein to Liechtenstein. But either way, it's cheaper than checking my voicemail with UM.

Well the callback charge back to the US 800 number would be 14? /minute and then the charge from USA to Liechtenstein on 800 pin2dest would be 14?/minute, right?

Come to think of it, I didn't think of it that way but not using the pin2dest but calling the Liechtenstein number directly might be cheaper andyou might be right...when I did this, I hadn't checked out Liechtenstein to Liechtenstein but it makes sense that would be whatever the rate is...

Matha-

Yep- it works great- I just used this method again while in Zurich. No PIN2DEST necessary. When you get your CBW callback, dial your own UM Liechtenstein number. When it goes to voicemail, dial #PIN# You will go straight to your voicemail menu, and judging by my CBW account, the rate is 20 cents/minute. I can check my voicemail for about 1/4 the cost of using UM, which is about 80 cents including setup charge.
