Hello,
a question for our US-based members:

Does the Cingular Pay-as-you-go service offer GPRS Data services?

Or lets ask in general: What is the cheapest solution to get some GPRS Data for email and icq for a 3 month trip to the US (except WIND which i already know)... We'd prefer one sim-card for voice and data

Chris :D

Now, tmobile's sim are the cheapest and easiest to get, but they only offer GPRS access to their free limited tzones. With Cingular, you get full GPRS access.

I searched on the website as well but was not able to find it at first ;-)

Cingular - AT&T

I didn't want to open a new thread for this, but according to several sources, including Cellular News the newly merged AT&T will be dropping Cingular brand in favour of AT&T (wireless). There will be a transition period in which both brands are used together, after which Cingular will be phased out.
