My gt-sim has been switched to a "prepaid" account (from postpaid) without them asking me, and they've had the cheek to take 25.00 as a "prepaid refill" again without asking me.
I've asked them to fix this, but in the meantime has this happened to anybody else? |
Same with my account. Have to ask them to fix it as well.
BTW Did you checked new invoice ralated to top-up? Isn't invoice number 909 by any chance? |

They've also tried sending me one as a pdf, but that's not readable. Looking at the invoice numbers each month, I'd guess they have not much over 100 direct postpaid customers, so this little excercise of billing them all 25 euros in advance will have raised them 2500 euros - but that won't go far when they have to deal with all the credit card chargebacks. Doubling sms charges, and adding surcharges in many more countries, both without telling customers, is one thing. Breaking the existing contract and switching customers to a different contract and then billing them under a new unsigned contract, without telling them, is really going too far. |
I've been looking at the IOM products with some interest. Guess I won't b going with GT.
I use a great utility called pdf-tools.com: http://www.pdf-tools.com/asp/product...=REPD&type=gui It has saved my 6 several times with bad PDFs. Stu |
Yes, they've switched all gt-sim customers to pre-pay without telling them.
From their reply to me: "yes you ar on post-paid howeve we needed to change the billing way as to many people just called once a month." I've pointed out to them it's impossible to use the service as I don't know what the rates are for using it. (the website describes a now non-existant postpaid service). The way they behave, you'd think their customer service came from an ex-soviet state monopoly (or were trained by Skype). Avoid them. (yes, I've just noticed thay say I am on "post-paid" - the sort of post-paid where they charge in advance, presumably). |

He told me that they charge 25$ at once and wait till you used up the money. Then they charge 25$ again (or once a month if you use more than 25$). The problem was that they had many customers with a few cent each month which makes the credit card billing very expensive. Just for info - i also dont think its good to do such changes without informing the customers in advance. Chris |
Well this is their response:
Dear Lukas Kucera, yes you are on post-paid howeve we needed to change the billing way as to many people just called once a month. The system now will automatically watc your account. Once it is dropped below the Trigger ow set at Euro 10.00 you will be refilling at Euro 25.00 automatically. If you like to change the trigger or refill amount please do so at the account panel once you have looked in at www.gt-sim.com. We trully liek to appologize for all the confusion but be are now growing at such a high level that we needed to do these changes to continue to offer our quality of service. With best regards Markus Hauschild As I clearly wrote them that I going to report them as fraudsters to my bank as didn't authorised some transactions on my card. I was surprised by their inability to reply normally. As bought this card just in April, I am very unhappy. Therefore, I will fill refund claim for their charges. And advise you to do same.http://mobilforum.mobilmania.cz/imag...sa_naughty.gif |
It is very bad if they did not inform you in advance......
|
They offered me refund for cost of SIM plus top -up charge.

Yes both. For your info, I have purchased SIM on April 10.

Well after seeing this post, I checked my account with GT-SIM. So far it is still post paid. However, I have not used it since early April. I wonder if the next transaction will trigger the account to be converted.
I went with them based on the tie in to the charge card and only having very infrequent need of a service available in Europe. I had planned on making a couple of calls only often enough to keep the service from being cancelled, except, of course, when I needed the service. Jeff |
The same thing happend to my account today. After complaining they only "offered" to give to refund back and cancel my account:
"wir haben alle PostPaid Konten auf PrePaid Auto umgestellt. Hierzu haben Sie vor 10 Tagen ein Email bekommen. Vertraglich sind wir dazu bevollmachtigt. M๖chten Sie jedoch den GT-SIM nicht im PrePaid Modus weiterlaufen lassen, bieten wir Ihnen an das Restguthaben auf Ihre Kredit Karte gutzuschreiben und die GT-SIM Karte zu deaktivieren. With best regards Markus Hauschild" I got such an email (We are pleased to introduce our new way to top-up your GT-SIM account....) but I thought this was a new option for prepaid customers. 4 weeks later than the first mail here, but still the same problem. No apologize any more, just offer to cancel your card. I think I will accept to get the refund back and go to somewhere more serious. ron |
I wonder how many customers they lost in the change from post- to pre-paid.. :)
