A friend by e-mail told me that GT-SIM has changed its rates for SMS and GPRS (which were never billed till little time ago, if I'm not wrong) from ? 0.09 to ? 0.18 and ? 0.10/10KB to ? 0.18/10KB which is really a BIG difference compared to the old rates!

On their site they still write the old rates in the homepage and the new ones in the rates page... but it seems they are billing at the new rates already...

Quite a bad move from them...

So, it seems that Globalsim Holiday may be better a choice now: SMS for 19 cents but data 14 cents/10 kB....

On May 2 I paid 9c for SMS using GT postpaid.

Don't forget there are 2 GT-SIM offerings:
http://www.gtsim.com/ Very expensive
http://gt-9.com/websites/gt_sim/index.php?lang=eng Much cheaper

Effendi 19-05-2006 13:53

Look at the "cheaper" option and click on "prices", you will see the new ones...

:ranting2: Yep we are in deep shit, mate.

I see SMS 39 - landline 49, mobiles 69 and roaming (inbound?) 49 for 50 euros.

Effendi, did you mean this?

*** COUNTRIES COVERED WITH ROAMING CHARGES

Przemolog 19-05-2006 15:32

http://www.gtsim.com/ is in AU$ aka AUD = Australian dollars - they are worth less than euros, that's why nominal rates are bigger !

Hmm, so even Mobal has cheaper GPRS than GT:

$19.55/MB is less than ?18 in GT :-P.
(OK, Mobal seems to have 200kB "data debiting" whereas GT 10 KB...)

There's MANY extra roaming supplements. So much for their flat-rates, and plans to reduce the US supplements, they've added lots more instead.

Increasing prices 100% (SMS) or 400%+ (some Caribbean islands) without any notice is going to give some people a shock on their bills (and lose them some customers).
