I don't know why Vodafone UK does not offer to private customers exactly the same as Vodafone Italy...
Vodafone passport for Vodafone IT private customers is valid in all the countries/networks you listed for UK business contracts, with the addition of Vodafone UK (of course, instead of Vodafone IT) and Vodafone Fiji (maybe you forgot it in your list or is it missing?)

Here, Vodafone passport can be activated for free and is valid until June 30th, 2006.
What about UK or other countries?
Is there any rumour of possible extensions after that deadline?

Here there doesn't seem to be any time limit (or their staff aren't aware of one)

Quite weird that Voda UK lists Monaco, while Voda Italy Liechtenstein! :D The war of the little countries! :D

just a quick question to our UK based forum members.

Just got a vodafone UK prepay sim with passport to use in france and i have two questions which the vodafone customer services team (as usual) cant answer

1) Peak and off-peak time bands... will UK time apply or in country time ??

example: i am in france and want to make a call back to a uk landline... At what time of the day should i call to benefit from the 5p/min charge ??? at 7:30 french time or at 8:30 (equivalent to 7:30 in the UK???)

2) Also calls from my Vodafone UK mobile to normal french landlines (as in to access my calling card) ... they are subject to an initial 75p and then how much ??? does it vary with peak and off peak ? is it still 30p peak / 5p off-peak

I don't see that Germany isn't available, and it would be nice for them to add other countries where Vodafone has interest in a network - how about USA [fat chance!]

How often do the Euro carriers change their roaming packages? Didn't Vodafone.it have a 2.50 euro rate for 50mb/day? Now it appears to be 15 Euro based on this post?

The European union consists of 27 countries with each having 3 MNOs on average. Despite some operators belong to multinational corporations (such as Vodafone, France Telecom/Orange, Deutsche Telekom/T-Mobile, Telefonica) they are all run independently, thus it's not unusal that some of these 80+ companies change their roaming tariffs from time to time, especially as wholesale and recently also retail tariffs became subject to tightening regulation by the EU.

And Vodafone Ireland has just cut back their Roaming countries outside Europe to just a handful. Arbitrarily, without giving anybody notice... Well, at least I didn't get notice for either my main or spare voda.ie SIMs.

If you were on a Vodafone Now! plan, it seems you have been converted to passport, whether you like it or not.

The solution I have found is to use the new Russian Beeline Roaming tariff in 260 countries. Usage is 'unlimited', after 7MB from the 3G networks you are throttled to 16KBps for the rest of your 'unlimited' 24hrs. Cost is six euros (249 Rubles) per 24 hr period.

Internet on your phone abroad - the price is the same (€2,99 per day for 50MB) and the list of participating countries seems to have gotten larger rather than smaller! I see Switzerland and Norway on the list, which AFAIR weren't on it before. Albania is gone though. Other than that, it's the usual EU list.
