TravelSIM BLOCKED!!
Before I use it abroad, I checked my trvaelSIM.
Then I found that my travelSIM cannot make nor receive calls. I called the support hotline. They say that my travelSIM is now blocked. Anyway, I requested them to unblock my travelSIM, while I do not know why the SIM is blocked. (Of course it is less than 24 manths from the last billed event.) Has anybody experienced the same trouble? |

I have written their customer support. I THOUGHT one usually received an automated email acknowledging the receipt of a trouble ticket. To tell you the truth, I would not be surprised that TravelSIM has joined the ranks of the deceased. Stan |
I have an Air Baltic card which is apparently part of the Travelsim familhy (they come out of Estonia)...checked the balance this morning and it's still there!

I just checked my TravelSIM - all OK
I know that such problem can be if you enter invalid AirTime recharge code more than 4 times. |

I did not try to recharge. I still have no answer from them. It is after normal working hours on the continent as I write. So, the have one full day to work the issue. Let's see how long it takes for them to respond, if they respond at all. Stan |
E-mail response.
I have got an E-mail response from them (Travelsimshop.com).
It seems that they have unblocked my SIM. But they say some strange thing; "Your TravelSIM card was blocked cuz since may 2006 we didn't record any topups on your account on travelsimshop.com. Due to TravelSIM operator regulation your number should expire after 2 years in the moment you didn't topup your card." But according to the web page " When does the TravelSIM card and the credit expire? - Help Desk ", They say "SIM card and credit will become invalid if the credit has not changed for 24 months." In fact, from the last billed action with my SIM, 24 months have not yet passed. It is really strange. Have thay made a mistake that they typed "CHANGED" where they should type "RECHARGED"? |
Travelsimshop customer support
Still no response to my email. No live help was available. So I called. After < 40 seconds on hold (all agents busy), my call was answered. Seems my SIM is also locked. Matter being referred to technical support. Since it is Saturday, they are off, so it seems. Monday is the day for my answer.

My sim works good

The saga continues.....
On Saturday I was told technical support would call on Monday.... and it is Wednesday, so I called back. Again, after a brief wait, < 30 seconds, their customer support answered.
Seems there was no record of my call on Saturday, 2-28. They use the phone # as the case number. I was promised a callback or email answer by the end of the week. Not very impressed with their support so far. No answer to my original email. This time they wanted to know WHERE the original purchase of the SIM card was - there website or something else. Of course, I bought the card second hand. And what does that have to do with my disappearing balance of 10+ Euros? The previous owner did a 50 Euro recharge in Sept of 2006. Last use was August 2008. !
As of this morning, my balance of 14+ Euros is restored! Hooray! Email ticket was submitted 2-24. Took long enough.

my card is with 0.00 balance too, i just wrote to support
and from last recharge no 24 months passed, and from last call is 3-4 months |

I had to call them -- TWICE until they straightened it out. Good luck. Stan |
Here is the answer from Travelsim, looks like they changed policy without notification. This is totally unfair for travelsim customers, and especialy for me this is blackmailing. From this moment i will stop using their services and i do not recommend to use Travelsim.
And i think that this have direct connection with financial crysis in Estonia. "Dear Customer Your sim card was blocked due to low activity on travelsimshop.com website. You recharge your card 372XXXXXXXX online over 18 months ago Due to long inactivity your balance 38 euro has expired. If you want to keep your number working you must recharge your card at least once a year (even with the smallest available amount) We unblock your number but to keep it working it need to be recharged within 7 working days otherwise it will be automaticly blocked again. After you decide to keep your number we will be able to refund your previous balance. Please let us know after you will topup your card within next days." |
But did travelsim have change expire day? I knew that sim expires if none refill is done in 2 years:(

Expiration of travelsim card
Dear TravelSIM - friends!
We see a some postings about blocked SIM Cards. The reason as you know is that TravelSIM Card expires 24 months after the last topup. We have a lot of customers who are using the SIM Cards only one time or customers who are using other solutions then. Normally prepaid SIM cards have an expiration time of 1 year - TravelSIM hast 2 years after the last recharge. We have to do this also to recycle phone numbers of unused SIM cards. Please if you notice that your SIM card is blocked and you still want to use it, please send an email to support@travelsimshop.com together with your phone-number and ask to reactivate your SIM card, we will do our best to reactivate the SIM card for your use again. We can ensure that there are no crises with TravelSIM, our product is healthy and we try to support as good as we can. Thanks a lot for your attention, Your TravelSIMshop.com Team |
Thank you!
