From France to Serbia (belgrade)

Hello everybody,

I need something a little bit special.
I need to call Serbia (belgrade) from France between 2 mobiles phones WITH PREPAID ONLY.

But the fact is that i need to be able to recharge the two cards from here (France)

Do you know what is the best operators concerning cost, recharging type etc...

Is serbia good prepaid cards which don't bill the incoming international calls ?
The problem is that he paid when he receives incoming calls from me :(

i forgot something: the best thing i'm looking for is: my husband can call me or tell me (i dunno how) that i have to call him back and so i can call him a minute after without any cost for him.

Effendi 06-03-2008 19:27

United Mobile could be a solution, you call each other at 0.29€/min (plus 0.25€ set-up fee) and incoming calls are free both in France and Serbia. It's not just clear which coverage UM has in Serbia...

thanks for precisons.

And does it seem good if:

I m france with my prepaid orange for example and him with united mobile.

He calls me and i can see on my phone that it's him (with number appearing)
So i can call him back with my orange phone.

So i can identify that's it's time to call him :) and i'm able to recharge in france with orange sratch cards.

Do you confirm if he would pay 0 if i'm doing it?

He will not pay anything but you may pay a lot if you call him via your mobile. Check mobile costs for calling +423 mobiles

It doesn't seem good as you will pay 70 cents per minute.
The best solution for you, if you want to top up by scratch cards, is a "Carte Bouygues" with the "formule Max de Temps" so you'll pay only 25 cents per minute.

25 cents is for europe only and serbia does not appear as an zone one contry.
It is a zone 4 1 euro.
Furthemore do you confirm that i can see his number on my phone when he call me from serbia?

Effendi 07-03-2008 19:26

I intended buyng 2 UM cards and call you using the 2 cards. On net calls at cheaper.

fedeprovenza 07-03-2008 19:45

Exactly, only 29 cent/minute (with 25 cent set-up fee):)

Even if he is in Serbia you are not calling a Serbian number but a Liechtensteian one!
And Liechtenstein is in zone 1.
That means you're going to pay 25 cents per minute.

Thank you all for your help.

Last thing i'd like to know is:

If he has not credit on his sim, is he able to just call me with ringing my phone that i can see his number or does he need his sim card credited just to "try" to call me?

If not, is there any way to know that i have to call him back?

prion 10-03-2008 13:31

He needs to have credit of course. Otherwise the call will not be initiated. You can check the credit online at www.united-mobile.com

fedeprovenza 10-03-2008 13:42

089, he can see his credit (it's free)

elean 18-03-2008 12:56

Callback cost?

I've at least questions concerning united mobile:

I can see that it is a callback fonction even if you call someone.
But if my husband call me and wait the call back, am i able to see that he is trying to call me ? (i mean may he know that my phone is ringing and he hangs off his phone to wait me to call him?)

OR will he be charged just when he hang up the phone when the call back calls him?

Is there any tip that allow me to know that he is avalaible for me to call him with no cost for him? (i mean that his credit of 10 euros will be not charge)

Thank you for helping me:)

MATHA531 18-03-2008 13:15

Elean...

Perhaps I misunderstand...you receive calls directly without any callback...if your husband calls you the call rings on your UM phone like any other phone on any other type of network...for the most part also caller ID works..

When you call out, they use a callback system...which delays the completion of the call until you get the callback but it's usually pretty quick.

If I misinterpreted your question, I apologize in advance.

elean 18-03-2008 13:29

In fact you answer a part of my question.

I'll be with bouygues in frence and he will be with um in serbia.

I cannot call him when i want because of his work.

I cannot refill his card (and don't want to)

So he is able to call me with the 10 euros credit during 9 months that i can call him back without no cost for him?

No, the function of most callback systems, including on his SIM card, means that the call initiator gets the callback to their own phone, and only when it's answered will the destination number start to ring.

At this point, some independent callback systems are charging the first leg, but others do not charge until the second leg is answered as well. Unless things have changed, the SIM card is in the latter group, so if he then hangs up, I don't think he will be charged, and you could call him.

Effendi 19-03-2008 12:01

With UM you start paying only when the person you are calling answers the phone (or if an answering machine answers, of course). You don't pay for free/busy tone.
So if your husband just wants to ring you, without you answering the phone, he'll spend nothing. But I don't get the point in buying a UM simcard for doing this... he can do it also with a Serbian card which would cost him less.

I suggested to buy 2 UM cards to call each other at a good rate. But buying 1 doesn't make much sense. He can get a Serbian card and call you on your Bouygues card at cheaper rates than with UM.

elean 19-03-2008 12:44

Thanks all for helping.

I think i'll do with 2 um cards wich is cheapest solution.

fedeprovenza 19-03-2008 13:33

Good: you'll pay only 29 cent per minute (with 25 cent as set-up fee):)

True, but I think an ICQsim would be a better deal, and usually CLI works with this simcard...

maccoy 19-03-2008 15:58

Calling him with Bouygues (formule max de temps) she spend less than calling with UM or ICQ (25 cents per minute with no set up fee instead of 29 cents a minute with 25 cents of set up fee).
I think that she also have some problems using her credit card on the net to fill up the credit...
And if her husband buys a Serbian sim she will spend more than calling him on a Liechtensteinian number.
