Deadline for re-registering your Manx 07624 / 07924 SIM card extended !
The deadline for re-registering your old Manx based sim card has been extended.
Anyone who still has not re-registered there +447624 / +447924 before this time, Your sim card will turned off! If your suppler has ceased trading, you can still re-register your sim card at: Maxsim, 0044, Ekit, Cherry, Bluefire, Callkey, X Fone, FreeGlobalsim. www.easyroam.co.uk . |
Geez! I can't believe there are that many people re-registering their sim cards. And, exactly how do you do re-register if your supplier no longer exists?

I suppose the credit you had is lost also, so why would anyone re register? Only if there was a gold number or something...

Ekit is the reseller and I think they are not interested any more on the callkey

A small admin fee of £12.99 covers the cost of transfer and is only payable on successful transfer of your SIM. So it will a depend on how much credit you have left on your card if this is really worth reactivating the sim. |
Thanks! That number is not worth 12.99 pounds to me. The credit you had on your card does not matter since this offer will NOT transfer any credit. I had about $70 on mine. My card is working now. But only for incoming calls. Nothing else works. Not even balance check or sms.
If it's still working when I travel next month, I will use it till it stops working. Then move on to my other sim cards. Quote from the bottom of the page: "Any call credit you had with your previous supplier cannot be transferred as it is the responsibility of your previous supplier to reimburse for any lost call credit". According to one of their new resellers, Callkey/Cospeed cards will come with a $20 annual fee. I didn't get a chance to confirm that with the O'Prey bros.
We'll just have to wait and see what their new pricing looks like. |
Customers have to bear in mind that every distributor has to pay up front for 12 months a activation fee for every sim card so it would be very expensive to offer free porting.
Customers should only port if your really want to keep there old 07624 / 07924 number, otherwise buy a new sim card. As long at the dealer is no longer trading with the manx network It can be ported to a new distributor/dealer. www.easyroam.co.uk |
port your number
I just came across this link...i don't know what the small fee is..but if anyone is still interested in keeping their IOM SIMS..

12.99 9.99 wow we are getting a pricewar here :-)
Can any off the resellers comment on the $20 fee per year. Will there be any fee or will there be no fee. It seems to be that if there will be any fee this has to be communicated to customers or will this be the next surprise. |

Only a good idea when you really want to keep your gold number. Other people probable have found another sollution. And, it's easier to take a new number with Geodesa, than to 'port' the old number. Pricing is about the same, because with a new number 5 pounds of calling time is included. |

The main problem with every reseller, you have allot of customers who never make any outbound calls, never buy any credit and then expect everything to be totally free. :nono: Customers who have purchased credit ($50 min) within 6 month's from expiry date will only need to pay £3, If your purchase value is over $100, there is no charge. Even with the porting form different distributors, If the porting customer has never purchased any credit but only used there sim card for receiving inbound calls. Don't expect to get ported over. . |

Depends on how you see it. Some companies do not charge a yearly fee.
Also If you have a card from a supplier that previously did not charge you anything you could now be faced by having to pay a yearly fee. Although it is mentioned in the faqs, there are lots of people that don't read faqs. A yearly fee should be mentioned clearly on the page where you list all your info and also on your adoptsim as it is part of the costs !. Putting it under faqs is a bit playing hide and seek like airlines adding cost for whatever after you almost finalized your booking. So to reactivate a sim you have to pay 10 tot 13 pounds plus 12 pounds per year fixed cost. Than my next question would be for existing geosim customers: I asume that the month of inactive service are added to the year. Meaning When I bought a sim in july 2007 the yearly fee is not due july 2008 but more like october 2008 ? Or like easyroam said: Every distributor/reseller will now be charging a annual free around £12 per year. or they could offer no annual fee to people who have purchased credit within 12 months. Which reseller is offering this. When you buy a x amount of credit the yearly fee is waived ? Also easyroam, you really have to update your site, because at the moment you are misinforming your customers, unless you are not charging this 12 pounds. The faq at www.easyroam.co.uk states the following: Does the /credit expire? Neither the sim card nor the credit expires. However, if you do not use the travel sim card for 12 months, we will de-activate the card. Should you wish to use your sim card again; we will re-activate it, which may incur a small re-activation fee. |
Yes bbob, Your correct :chair:
The information on the easyroam website is for 07822 (x-fone) roaming sim cards, However we have now changed back to manx 07624/07924 format. Most of our customers are from our telephone systems side of the business and we had to impairment a new roaming service very quickly while the callkey issue was sorted out or we found a new provider. Existing customers are not charged a re-newel fee (dealers discretion) The yearly connection fee is paid every 12 mths. for date of purchase. However in our case if the customer buys credit within a 12 mth period, we may not charge yearly fee. Our customers are business customers . They are buying large amounts of call credit, so we don't charge them renewal fee. Before the manx system stopped, almost every site was different, some charged a renal fee, others said if you don't use your sim card with 90 days or 6mts, you would lose your credit and sim. Every dealer has to pay this fee to the network. so if the dealer is not making money from you buying credit. He is going to charge you a yearly fee to cover his cost. . |
