Recharge help for Voda Italy

Hi all.

I have a Voda Italy card. Because it is all in Italian I needed help there to do a recharge from a local. Now I am no longer in Italy, is there any way to recharge over the internet? Failing that, can someone tell me the menu options to do it with a CC over the handset?

Thanks in advance.

You have to register at www.190.it.
Here you can see recharge online:

But most probably they will accept Italian CCs only...

In the following countries you may use a local vodafone top-up card for your Italian vodafone sim by entering the scratch card number when prompted, calling free of charge, *123*42010# (it's a call back):

Albania: Vodafone
Irlanda: Vodafone Ireland
Australia: Vodafone
Malta: Vodafone
Austria: A1
Nuova Zelanda: Vodafone New Zealand
Croazia: VIPnet
Olanda: Vodafone
Egitto: Vodafone
Portogallo: Vodafone
Francia: S.F.R.
Slovenia: SI.MOBIL
Germania: Vodafone D2
Spagna: Vodafone
Gran Bretagna: Vodafone
Svezia: Telenor
Grecia: Vodafone
Ungheria: Vodafone

I have not tried it, but the information comes directly from vodafone Italy's website.

That doesn't solve the language barrier, since the messages will be in Italian but I have dialed it from my voda sim and the correct procedure should be:

dial 1 then enter the number of the scratch card and then your Italian mobile number (10 numbers).

The amount of the top up should be a currency conversion of the amount purchased in local currency.

Good luck.

Thank you for your reply.

I do not understand. I do not live there, but travel there. The online form asks for "Codice Fiscale" which I do not know about.

I was able to enter a credit card on the phone before, but cannot remember how.

I was about to recharge my Voda Italy cards (two of them, just to keep them going for now) and noticed that the site now offers EUR 15 as the minimum amount (it used to be 3). Which is too much -- I'm poor, and our phones have enough credit on them already. Is there another way to top up for less?

fedeprovenza 22-02-2008 01:18

You can buy a smaller card on e-bay :D

I looked already. The only offers I found for low-value recharges were "SOS ricariche", and I'm not quite sure how that works, but it seems you need less than 3 EUR credit for it to work (both cards have about 10 on them).

fedeprovenza 23-02-2008 11:57

With 'Sos mi ricarichi' you can transfer 2 or 8 euro by a sim to other sim (both Vodafone, obviously:D): but you have more than 3 euro, so you can't use it:(
Perhaps in some italian shop it has possible to find a 5-euro-card yet, but i'm not sure. Just yesterday, i've been to 3 supermarkets, the minimum amount was 15 euro

AndreA 23-02-2008 12:04

Well, you can't use "SOS Ricarica" for the card validity :(

This is really annoying, as Voda just removed the 5 and 10 EUR recharge options from its website on 10 February. All the offers on eBay, except for one (which is an auction, not a Buy It Now, so there's no guarantee of getting it) are SOS. There seem to be no other online recharge sites in Italy, either.

When I was in Italy, I recharged the phone electronically several times at tabacchi, where they would enter the amount and print you out a code (or add it directly to the account), starting from 3 EUR. Is this no longer possible below 15, too?

One idea: Is it possible to do a bank transfer to recharge the account? (using IBAN number) It is for Vodafone Germany.

fedeprovenza 23-02-2008 14:06

Mmm i'm not sure you can use that solution. I can try to see if i find a 5-euro-card;)

Yes, using 190.it you can do it but the minimum amount is again 15 € :P
