I have never heard anything back from you guys. No, I didn't receive any of the new replacement SIM card some of the members here got. Yes, I still had credit within my account before you abruptly cancelled everyone.

bbob 13-10-2007 10:12

Achu the offer will also be valid for you, you can show proof to yackie you bought from yackie, the service does not work, so you can get a free sim from them :-)

I was only responding to above text, so my suggestion is, make thin unhappy customer happy.

achu 13-10-2007 16:29

Say what you want, you did not take care of the older customer. From my personal experience, you abruptly cut off the old service without much notice back in May, 2007. After that, only some of the older customer got the new SIM. Unfortunately, I am not one of them.

You guys handled the transition poorly. You didn't even bother to email the old customers explaining what happened and what you are doing to resolve it. Perhaps I am just expecting too much.

I still have all my original order # and original account login information (including the automatic VOIP account created). I just tried to contact their support. Let's see what they'll do.

Then stop making defamatory attacks on your former suppliers, and look at the problems a bit closer to home.

You've left some of your customers with lost credit on SIM cards that have been switched off by your suppliers for whatever reason, and failed to make restitution to all of them and ignored their emails and comments since.

So perhaps this recent promotional idea of yours is more than a little cheeky.

I'd rather use two paper cups and a string, than to give money to "alleged" rip-off artists.

The country is Iceland, the new Yackie offer is a rebrand of 09 Mobile, plus a DID number, a Voip number and some other "surprises".

I would invite all the forumers to be a little more calm and objective. We all perfectly know the troubles caused by Yackie in the past and surely they have a very bad reputation which they totally deserved. Now they have a new offer, I'm waiting for my simcard and we'll see how it will work, then we'll judge.

Lets see you call me bobby which you now is not my name is't Bob like it says. Than you start to lecture me to be more mature. mmm i don't know who is mature here but calling me bobby is really childish. But if this is the tone you want to set it's ok for me.

Let see maybe it's your name yackie, if I say this in dutch it means I have tasted something that tastes bad. So maybe that's the reason everytime I hear yackie that bad taste comes around the corner.

Let see the fact. In this thread one of your former customers has complained about the problems shutting him off earlier this year. He did not receive any respond from your company. Now that you have an offer for other customers he is still waiting for his offer. No where have you answered him or solved his problem. You are even telling him in this thread that your current offer is not even valid for him.

Not a very strong answer don't you think. If you are not sure go and investigate why you are not sure and than give an answer, this is yet again another non mature answer.

I've used he Icelandic SIM and have been generally happy. Its lack of voicemail, SMS, have been my biggest complaints.

.

I will make a rectification.

It is not a 09 SIM card re-branded, we have a MVNO licence with 09 and also with some other operators ( like in USA, part of our surprise ) and we have a complete independent profile than the 09 system, with our own rules and set up.

We just use their network, and we also make some termination.
We are working with them for to develop our personalized products.

So, 09 and Yackie are two different products at the end of the day, we share some mutual R&D and technical facilities.

We have a very deep and closely collaboration together.

Have a great day

we are working to release the data for the US and Canadian Market in the next few days ( with also a price for 0,10 $ per minute in incoming and outgoing ) and for the world SIM Edition we plan to have it released for Jan / February 2008.

MATHA531 16-10-2007 21:47

No surprise here if indeed there is a connection between Yackie and O9.....

No roaming partner in Switzerland.

PhotoJim 16-10-2007 23:03

But roaming in Liechtenstein, which is odd.

Voucher...

Hi

I'd like to confirm that I received a valid voucher from YACKIE today....thanks!

Mnemo

Bossman 17-10-2007 23:34

Same here. I was also able to go to their website (using the the voucher) and select a number/country of my choice, and they sent me a confirmation with both the US/iceland numbers. And the initial free credit of $49 is already on the sim. Also received a shipping tracking number.

On their website there are options to forward/unforward the US number, to the iceland number, or the VIP and then the iceland number, and other options. It also looks like one can access the VM from another phone. Called the number then hit #, it asked for a password. But, I do not know wha it is. So far so good...Will not be abe to test it till the end of the year when I travel.

Me too. Thanks for the offer Yackie

Effendi 18-10-2007 11:56

I received mine too yesterday, I'll surely test it once I'm back home and in Germany on the weekend. BTW they seem to be much better organized than before, by now...

achu 18-10-2007 20:48

Since I was the original "negative previous experience" poster on this thread, I feel like I should also update on my progress. I received my voucher today and went thru the ordering process. Like the previous 3 posters, I got my local forward #, appropriate pre-loaded credit associated with the account, and a postal tracking number.

I have to give credit where it is due. This time around, the customer service is way better. The ordering process is quick and the automated email responds to the order are fast and accurate.

I am also located within US so I will probably not blow US$2+/min to test the service. That said, I think YackieMobile did hint that they are working on $0.10/min for US/Canada. They will definitely be the first to offer something that cheap within North America.

Absolutely! The cheapest prepaid GSM service in Canada that I know of is 7-11 SpeakOut at 20¢/min local (outgoing and incoming) and 30¢/minute long distance within Canada/US. Airtime is available in $25, $50 and $100 increments and is good for 365 days. They use the Rogers network.

The main issue with SpeakOut is that they don't sell their SIMs separately. You have to buy a Nokia phone from them, however, from time to time they have promotions where you get the phone free if you buy $100 airtime. In September they were offering the Nokia 1600b under such a promotion. The phone is unlocked but it only works on 850/1800 (NA) bands.

For more info see http://www.speakoutwireless.ca/

I would not place any bets on them being the first in that sort of tariff range, or that it will be unique for long from any supplier

Any idea about the expiration period of the yackie sim?

Bossman 18-10-2007 21:29

According to their FAQ, it's expires after 9 months of non-use.
