will it be like on telly, you're chatting away to someone, then an advert break comes on and you both have to listen to it for a minute? :???:

apparently samsung and nokia are going to provide handsets, question is are they going to be special handsets or can you just shove a sim into any old handset?

Apparently before every phone call you have to answer questions like "Which of these celebs are you the most like: Eva Longoria, Penélope Cruz, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, ... ?" and Blyk recommends you the adequate L'Oreal lipstick.

That makes me wonder what happens to customers who don't look similar to super models. Are they not allowed to talk?

Richard10002 29-09-2007 18:59

With 26 people on their who's who page, all no doubt wanting to be earning £30K+ per annum, they've got a million quid wage bill before they start.

It will be interesteing.

217 teats and 43 free minutes a month.... not a lot really?

What's to stop you getting your kids to get "invited", then you use the sim.

Malkav 30-09-2007 00:29

i told you lot aboot this aaaaaaaagggggeeeeees ago!

fedeprovenza 16-02-2008 21:58

BBB 17-02-2008 14:31

The service is supported by agreeing to receive advertising messages but it has
been reported some people have been disabling MMS in an attempt to stop this.
Not sure what the promoters think of this - or whether they have procedures in place
to stop this from happening now.

Keighleyboy 18-02-2008 01:12

I have a Blyk UK sim card, its okay.

They have just recently stopped calls to freephone numbers that didn't affect your inclusive minutes. Now they have barred freephone numbers all together. I'll just have to wait til the end of the month for another 43 minutes again.

Well... I just read at MWC 09 that Blyk is thinking to be a MVNO outside UK, too.

Do you how many customes they have in UK?

About 200,000 in UK in Sept 2008, apparently, and then no growth for a few months

- which is presumably why, after rumours for a few weeks, it's been announced that Blyk will cose down as an MVNO here, and the customers will be merged into Orange

Some reports in the last week or two have it that Blyk will still pursue advertising-based deals with other networks, for example Vodafone Netherlands, but it seems these will be as partnerships on their existing deals rather than as a separate mvno

The Blyk website offer already seems a bit different, £15 free credit, rather than a bundle of minutes, presumably to take it in line with Orange's plans. I wonder what will happen about the age limit

24 July: Mobile Today - Orange to offer ad-funded tariff proposition to customers

16 July: Blyk stops MVNO to be Orange agent - Mobile News
