09 mobile forwarding issues

Any time I try to forward calls to my 09 mobile or call it from the USA, I get invalid number. I tried forwarding from Skype and calling from Tmobile also, but it wont work. Are there any services that can have a USA number forward to my 09 mobile? Also what about callback to call USA numbers?

prion 03-09-2007 05:55

Did you try callbackworld?

plunderisley 03-09-2007 21:43

No, not yet.
But I was looking for a call forwarding service with a USA number

Bossman 03-09-2007 22:24

What about voicestick, kall8, les.net, vbuzzer? They all can forward internationally and provide a USA number. voicestick is the only one of them that does not charge a monthly fee. You may want to compare each of them to see which one meets your needs.

plunderisley 03-09-2007 22:31

but does it work with 09?
If US phones and Skype wont work, I would hate to pay money and then it wont work

andy 03-09-2007 22:36

Has this phone number ever received any calls?

plunderisley 03-09-2007 22:46

yes, from my polish cell and 09 customer support

MATHA531 03-09-2007 23:05

A friend of mine used my o9 card during the first two weeks in August...I set up my US toll free number on enlinea as well as pin2dest on cbw and both worked pretty well at the stated rates (and he used enlinea to call back to the USA at the stated rate....)..no big problems encountered whatsoever.

plunderisley 03-09-2007 23:33

voicestick work with 09?

It does but it's very expensive.

plunderisley 03-09-2007 23:53

so is enlinea the best and CBW?

MATHA531 04-09-2007 00:18

...it depends on a number of factors...fox example for some reason cbw does not seem to work with any of the estonian international cards but enlinea does....

I think with o9, enlinea is better but they actually as they seem to use the same carrier should both be pretty much the same...(you can open up accounts with both...opening up an account is free).

I seem to recall it working with mine but I'm not 100% sure. I could go back and check my call logs.

Voicestick costs 22.52 cents/min to 09

Beware about les.net. It does cost 75 cents/min to 09 mobiles!

plunderisley 04-09-2007 19:03

voicestick doesnt work. I get a "please try your call again later" and just wasted 13$

Bossman 04-09-2007 20:18

Actually 09 does work with voicestick. Just called their cust. service and got through. That's the only 09 number I know.

I went to global forward and typed in my 09 number 01135438039XXXX and hit OK
Called it up and I get in 2 different languages "The number is busy" and the other one sounds asian.

Bossman 04-09-2007 20:58

Here is my history. Something is definitely wrong, as I was only charged $0.02 for the forward to iceland number. I am positive voicestick charges per minute. I hung up as soon as the recording asked me to hold on for the next rep. Could it be that their customer service number is a landline?

According to numberingplans.com it is a landline:

Information on phone number range +354 585XXXX

Number billable as geographic number
Country or destination Iceland
City or exchange location Reykjavík
Original network provider* Landssími Íslands h.f

*) Number portability has not been taken into account

plunderisley 05-09-2007 01:05

any reason why it doesnt work?

Yes, its a regular landline number.

Chris

Bossman 05-09-2007 11:32

Not sure what you are asking. This is an Illinois number right?

plunderisley 05-09-2007 14:19

yes, and its being forwarded to my 09, so people in USA can call me and not pay a huge bill, but it does not work!

Yup.
Basically
People call that voicestick number and that forwards to my 09 mobile number, except it does not work.

Bossman 05-09-2007 15:12

Does that number work without the forwarding? Try forwarding it to 09's customer service number and see if that works. If it does, then that means forwarding to iceland mobile does not work with voicestick.

BTW, I just called that number (assuming it's correct) and the message says "international call cannot be completed as dialed" So, the forwarding does not seem to be working. Just make sure you typed inthe number correctly, and it does not have any spaces/period at the end.

nop its typed in correctly.

Bossman 05-09-2007 21:22

PM me your iceland number and let me test if my voicestick number can forward to it.

Hmm,
Still doesnt work. I get a recorded message now "The number is unavailable, please hang up and try again"
I dont understand why I cannot call my 09 from any USA phone provider.

Try to switch networks on your mobile and then try again (not with voicestick but with other carriers). I am also having trouble connecting to my 09 number with some voip providers

plunderisley 06-09-2007 13:42

Tried both Plus and Era in Poland. When I switch to Orange, it won't register

plunderisley 09-09-2007 16:37

I got this email from Vonage

"We understand that you are having issues with placing international calls to a specific numbers in Iceland.

We have been making test calls to the number that you have provided. At this time calls to this number are failing from all major carriers. This usually indicates that the number has either been disconnected or is an invalid number. Please check the number to verify that it is correct. There may also be an issue with that carrier which may be causing these calls to fail."

Are there any USA or USA VOIP carriers that can call the 09 mobile?

prion 09-09-2007 17:47

I am also unable to dial a 09 number. I would advice you to call them at CS: +3545850909

sms arrives instantly though.

plunderisley 09-09-2007 20:45

Called them up a while back, and talked with their support. They said after a few days that its not their side, but the other carriers and they can't do anything about it. I think thats cr@p because if I can't dial the 09 number from basically any USA carrier, whats the point of having it?

kwantlen 09-09-2007 23:44

I cannot call from Canada to my 09 number. The only serviceprovider connectting to my 09 number is FIDO. I have intermittent success with PIN2TEST and one time it worked with SKYPE.

I have discussed this problem with customer service several months ago but have given up. They blame the local providers in Canada.

During my trip to South America I could neither call nor receive calls from Peru and Colombia. When I tried to contact them I received no answer.

Bossman 12-09-2007 18:11

It sure looks like this iceland mobile number (this range +3543803) is worse than UM when it comes to calling or forwarding to it at a good rate. BTW, the new yackie card also supposedly in this range.

If at all you can connect to it. It's insanely expensive. The 2 calling cards I tried Mega and purple charge about $0.85/min and $0.78/min respectively. Forwarding to it is also very expensive

Voicestick - Don't think it works.
VBuzzer - $1.07.
les.net - $0.98.

dg7feq 12-09-2007 18:55

yes, with calling cards it seems to be quite expensive to reach the 09 card.
When my parents were on africa trips some weeks ago i used either CBW (Pin2Dest) to call them for 15ct/min with quite bad quality or used one of the german call-by-call carriers (like 10-10 numbers in the US) for 26 euro-cent/min with crystal clear quality....
