I have a 09 sim and the last two days I am having trouble to get incoming calls. Most routes to 09 do not seem to work. I have found some that work but not always.

I was wondering if other people have noticed the same issue or if anyone has any idea about this...

Yes, same problem in germany.
From 15 tested providers only 4 work.
Cheapest 17ct/min, stable and with caller id for around 30ct/min.

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering why this is happening. The strange thing about it is that even the local PPT in my country is having trouble connecting to this number all the time!

AndreA 27-06-2006 11:02

what network did you use in Greece?

Last year a friend of mine had this kind of problem using Q-Telecom to reach my UM and 09 sims... she called the customer care and after 3 days it was ok.

prion 27-06-2006 11:05

I have used OTE (main local telephone company) as well as other routes (private companies, calling cards, voipbuster, jajah......

It is easier to call FL1 that 09!!!

well, it's a long time that FL1 is working for that :D

...anyway... really strange that OTE can have this kind of troubles...

prion 27-06-2006 11:26

OTE works some time and the other does not work for calling 09. Cosmote does not work today at all!

AndreA 27-06-2006 11:28

really strange... did you try to contact them?

They are 2 important networks, they can't "forget" interconnession with Iceland mobiles!

prion 27-06-2006 11:31

No I did not. I will contact cosmote because I do not have any connection at all with them. Ote has most of the time but not always...

Don't know if this is relevent...just returned from 3 week trip to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France and UK....had no problems whatsoever using enlinea as late as yesterday Monday 26/06/06

Can you please tell us which callback (Mango or papaya) you are using from enlinea and the per minute rate to ths US with it;

MATHA531 28-06-2006 08:13

Mango ...10?/minute! Be aware that they apparently don't have voicemail available (which in a way is a blessing for enlinea [and CBW]) and the phone was unable to register during my entire 1 week stay in Switzerland.

Interestingly enough, I just checked the enlinea web site and it does say 10?/minute for Iceland-US but 18?/minute for Iceland special-USA but I have all my calling records through yesterday 26/06/06 and indeed all the calls were at 10?/minute!

Thanks for the quick reply! I have heard that they are having problem with Switzerland.

What about the quality with enlinea;

Bossman 28-06-2006 11:02

I have not checked enlinea's site in a while until now. I am assuming the spc rate listed is for mobiles. So, in the case of UM/riiing it's $0.57 for FL - USA compared to $0.14 in the case of CBW.

Let me repeat...one would think you're correct. However for whatever the reason on my last trip to Europe which just terminated I was in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France and the UK and while O9 could not register in Switzerland, from all other countries enlinea service was quite reliable and I was billed 10?/minute in 6 second intervals for all calls to the USA so either luckily for me enlinea billing program is wrong or O9 is not listed as an Iceland special.

09 numbers are relatively new so some providers count them as landline and this is the case of enlinea.

Is there a minimum charge of one minute and then six seconds billing or not;

dg7feq 22-07-2006 11:21

Hello,
anybody knows whats going on with 09 Mobile?

I just put the card in my parents phone and wanted to show them how to use the callback on their holiday (they fly tonigh.....) and: nothing happens at all.
No callbacks come in and the card is not reachable at all.

And when calling the hotline number it rings forever but noone picks up.

Superb timing indeed. 2 weeks ago when i checked the card before their holiday everything was still fine.

petar258 22-07-2006 20:49

Check is it possible to send/receive sms. Looks like 09 have same problem as UM.

MATHA531 22-07-2006 21:33

UM is working...O9 abruptly seems not to be working anymore...my O9 sim registers on T Mobile in the USA but using my ancient SE300, when making a call (using check balance) where once I pretty quickly got a message "message sent" and then the call went through, today, it says "calling" stays on that for a while and fails to do anything else. It is also ominous that their 24 hour help line is not answering.

Perhaps it's a temporary glitch but my sense is (hope I'm wrong) they're history.

prion 23-07-2006 10:00

Mine is also not working. It registers on networks (tried different ones) but I cannot call the sim from various routes and also callback does not work.....
I hope it is temporary. Recently they have also updated their web site, which does not lead us toward their possible closure....

Yes, I also hope its temporary as my parents just called me from cape town airport for 2 Euro/min using the german Vodafone SIM-card... 09 would have been 49ct/min.

Namibia next week will be even more expensive...

Chris

In the recent past there were also periods that the callback did not come. Lets hope it is one of those two. Your parents could contact you via sms which is cheeper....

prion 23-07-2006 19:36

The mobile is working again! I did manage to call it and its own callback works again!

Lets hope that this will not happen often

MATHA531 23-07-2006 20:15

Now if we can only get enlinea working again and its 10?/minute rate from Europe to the US everything will be fine.

Yes, they sent SMS already with the Vodafone card. Cost about 50ct a piece.
I'll message them that they can try the card again now..... keep fingers crossed.

I just got this email from the customer support:

Quote:

Dear Mr. Frock,

We apologize but we had a network problem over the weekend, which has now
been fixed. Your card should now work as normal. Our hotline was totally flushed with calls and hard to reach during this time.

Best regards,

Customer service
Chris

Update:

The System is up and running again.

The last week my parents had been in South Africa and the card worked fine inbound and outbound.
Yesterday they continued to Namibia -- and there the card registers to the network but no calls are possible inbound and outbound.

I called the hotline (which is reachable again too) and opened a tech ticket.

It seems like international cards really love me indeed

Mine works well these days. Probably it is somethink that has to do with the specific country

yes, it is specific.
I read on a german webboard that other people had problems with Namibia too earlier this year (February). And from feb to aug there should be enough time to fix the problem or delete the country from the coverage list...

Today it is very difficult to receive incoming calls to my 09 number. This is not possible from Greece and from other voip providers I have tried it did not work.

Any other similar experiences;

Hi Prion,
i just tried out with my card.

The huge providers (German Telecom, BT, o2, Arcor) connect very fast and good.
The cheap providers didnt work today.
