One step in the right direction. I also have received the email informing of my new DID number. I did a quick test and it does appear to work. In the email there is mention of the new username/password. Has anybody received that and is successful in login in? The email I received didn't provide my username/password and I didn't receive any other email from them. I would be interested in what information is available in the online account page.

Still no refund on my side. I purchase my SIM about 3 month ago. I am way passed the charge back period. I wonder how refund would work for a purchase which happened that long ago.

I didn't get the e mail with my user name and password either and I e mailed them and they sent it to me. I logged in and th einfo on the log in site was pretty skimpy; it listed the one call I received while I was travelling back in August but it was there....no mention of how to re-charge which might be on the main site..the main site is not listing rates..they say this is temporarily unavailable...I think I was overcharged for the one call I received and will have to speak to them about it....

The US truth in lending act deals with the legalities of charge backs in terms of it having to be done within 60 days of the statement where the purchase was first listed but the truth in lending act also restricts you the customer to being guaranteed some consideration is the best way I can describe it if the purchase was made in your state or witnin 100 miles of your purchase (of course this was done long before it was common to buy things on the internet)...most cc companies will assist you for a reasonable amount of time if you dispute a charge...I am not naive in terms of dealing with people..I can understand that with a large number of chargebacks for non receipt their credit card account could have been suspended...most merchant agreements do give the credit card bank that right if there are an excessive number of charge backs (as opposed to refunds issued)...I am willing to see how this owrks out at this stage...

I received the new DID number and a new login and password for the account manager.
But now i can not place outgoing calls anymore and incoming also does not work at all.
SMS work as ever. So the SIM itself works but the yackie technology still seems to be quite unstable.

I got my sim but I didnt receive my number with it, I sent an SMS and it worked fine but I e-mailed them and I still havent gotten my incoming phone number, so so far its pretty useless.

I am in Nigeria at the moment. I also received an email about my new DID number. So, I decided to test it out. I placed a couple of outgoing calls in Amsterdan each about 3 minutes, and 1 in and out going call here for about 4 minutes. I had a balance of $25.11 before I made any of the calls. I now have a $-0.8 balance. The billing is so erroneous I could not make sense of it! Nothing added up! Looks like ther calls were billed at $1.29 or so. But even so, all calls I made added up to about $17 as per the call log (which is very wrong!). How come I have a negative balance? I emailed yackie right away, and he mentioned that the billing is not yet working and should at the end of the month. The test calls were all very clear though.

BTW, I still have not received my refund yet. I am not sure I can still go through my credit card company at this time.

On a side note, I am using the globalsim (from freeglobalsim) as my primary sim in coordination with voicestick. It is working flawlessly! No complaints at all. I actually had the yackie sim with me by luck...did not plan on doing anything with it until I saw the email about the new DID when I checked my mail in amsterdan, so I decided to test it.

I finally got my DID number from yackie but I get a recording saying thats the number is not working when I call it, anyone else having no luck on calls to their incoming number?

After emailing their support over the weekend for my username/password (which, for a change, they answered promptly on Monday) I can now finally access my online account management.

Yeah, the billing system is definitely kinda screwy. It looks like all the outgoing test call I made all the way back in July was charged $0.50 a minute (in the USA), even though none of my calls actually completed. I purposely hang up before the other end answered (thus should be an incomplete call). Every one of them is logged for around 20 seconds or so. That said, it does not look like any of the incoming test calls (which I hang up also) has been charged. Atleast all the deduction did add up (or subtract) correctly from my original $29 credit.

Hopefully they'll fix the billing problem. At least they are going in the right direction now.

From the Yackie website

"Please be advised, our rates are not displayed at this time, we are in the process of updated our tariffs. Our rates will be updates as soon as possible"

Don't you just LUV their version of the English language?
