Well, I stayed in Switzerland last July and I have some interesting news to update.
OrangeClick - operator web-based - now is available at an InterDiscount shop or at an Orange Center. The option SMS (0.10 CHF instead 0.25) is free but NOT automatic, so you have to set it in your account. Yallo has the best intertional prices. Now they have only 1 price: 0.39CHF for national and european calls. Great! Then 0.05 CHF / min. between Yallo customers. The only pity is that they don't accept incoming MNP. Then a strange thing... in Lausanne and Vevey I "lost" the coverage of In&Phone, maybe they were testing something... but I didn't see their coverage from 10th to 18th July... really strange :P Other news: Switzerland has another MVNO. MobileZone ( http://www.mobilezonenet.ch ) http://www.mobilezonenet.ch/pics/net_200.gif |

It seems that all calls to European destinations and some other destinations from with CH are now 39 rappen (~.25 Euros). Roaming is still a bit pricey: 80 rappen (.5 Euros) inbound in Europe and 2 SF (1.2 Euros) outside Europe. Outbound is more, obviously. Stan |
Wind and... In&Phone
I'm actually in Lausanne and... my Wind sim cards are roaming on In&Phone
Wind seems to be the only network at this moment according with them... the other simcards (italian and not) can't use I&P coverage, so strange :) Another nice thing: I don't pay any incoming/outgoing call while i'm roaming on their network  |
Checking networks in this moment (LAUSANNE, VD)

New info: Tele2 has a larger coverage and only not more in Zurich. Just found in Lausanne (and its hinterland, Renens too for example) and Geneva!
|
Add Basel to the coverage map of Tele2, found it when I was there after the christmas holidays. The network can be found around the convention center area and the German railway station but not in the city center. Neighbour channels were also present.

There is an interesting battle between the swiss operators actually:
M-Budget has announced a new price this week. It is now 0.34 CHF / min (https://www.m-budget-mobile.ch/MBudget/). Tele2 replies with 0.33 CHF / min! (http://tele2.ch/fr/index.php) |
thanks micannese!
So now Tele2 is the cheapest one.. |
In theory Tele2 is the cheapest one, but the debiting method is different: 60/10 vs 10/1 for M-Budget. So for a call of 10 seconds M-Budget is still the winner with a cost of 0.06 CHF vs 0.33 CHF for Tele2.
Another info comes from Coop Mobile. They have a new price from the 2nd april 2007: 0.36 CHF/min instead of 0.39 CHF/min (http://www.coop.ch/coopmobile/). The game is not over... |
