I looked at the EuropaSIM website and it says that they're sold out of sim cards for 2013. That doesn't really tell me much. Does anybody know how long they've been sold out? Are they likely to have more cards at the beginning of 2014?

I seem to recall this happening a few years back - also over the Xmas/New Year holiday - I think they are just indicating they are closed for the holidays.

Motorhome WiFi are open for business - http://www.motorhomewifi.com/ - so they may be a better - and slightly cheaper - option for a EuropaSIM card.

Hope this info assists / Steve :)

Sadly not - that's on the old 50/150MB tariff.

I had one of those, but after trying to register on the Vodafone ITA site to create an account (necessary to change tariff) I went round in circles for a few days. Gave up.

Bought a new SIM with the new tariff.

thanks for the answer! I have ordered a new sim!!!!

EuropaSIM were quite helpful - they suggested using up the spare credit on the old SIM...

BTW, I noticed that MotorhomeWifi have stopped selling SIMs on their own - this makes EuropaSIM the only supplier of SIMs on their own...

Received the new sim and there are 5 euros on the sim (call 404) does sim livie for a year with only 5 euros? or should rush to put 10 euro on sim?

Some resellers claim that Voda Italy credit does not expire - I have my doubts, so I make a chargeable event (sadly at a cost of 3 euros) every six months.

This usually involves travel outside of the UK, so not a biggie for me.

I'm sure other members of this forum will have more precise knowledge...

If you have a smartphone you can install "My vodafone" app from Vodafone Omnitel. It will show you the expiration date and current balance. Once configured it works via WiFi without EuropaSIM card inserted.

Some users reported successful upgrade of the old EuropaSIM cards to the new Smart Passport option using the following procedure:
"Call the number 42070 (free from many roaming countries). Reply "1" to all announcements. The last one informs you that the option Passport Mobile Internet needs to be deactivated in order to activate Smart Passport. You confirm that one with "1" as well."
