I currently use a Motorola V980 in Japan and wish it had BlueTooth. Any questions, just ask. Some of us have been dealing with the Japan problem for years.

You don't have to go 3G. You can also rent a prepaid 2.5G phone at the airport. Or if you have contacts in Japan, they might be able to help you buy a prepaid phone. Most folks on a temporary visa have a hard time buying a prepaid in Japan.

i see, but i already got a 3G phone for a really good price from a friend, now i just need a sim that i can use while in japan that will work with Docomo or whatever else it can use for service. and i need to be able to refill credit online from my laptop
